⁶ Jesus used this illustration in speaking to the people, but they did not understand what he was telling them.

⁷ So Jesus said again, “Amen, Amen, I tell you: I am the door for the sheep. ⁸ All who came before me^[a] were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.
